PAGAN " CHRISTENING."

ANCIENT MAGYAR RELIGION. : '/ BUDAPEST. As a result of the Press description, illustrated by photographs, of a pagan christening in . Hungary, and its reproduction in foreign newspapers, this Home Ministry has made an investigation of the ceremonies performed. Photographs showed the priest of the Turanian onegod believers cutting half moons on the baby's cheeks with a penknife. The gendarmes sent to investigate the affair state that the report was incorrect, as the half inoons were designed on the infant's cheeks with jam, and were merely symbolic. Th#se Symbols, however, are stated to be modern hocuspocus and were not among those used in the ancient pagan religion of Hungary, which sacrificed a white horse to obtain favour from the gods. Steps will now be taken against this sect, the members of which have been frequently punished for anti-religious propaganda.
