THROWN INTO CREEK.
OCCUPANTS OF MOTOR CAR. FORTUNATE ESCAPES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEYTRKE, Thursday. While going from Dannevirke 'to a dance at Woodville last evening a car, containing four Dannevirke and two Kiritaki residents, struck a concrete bridge on the main road about four miles from Woodville.'-: The car remained where it struck and the occupants, it is reported, were shot into a creek containing several feet of water. They were rescued by the driver of the car, Cyril Albert White, who was unhurt, and a motorist, who was fol lowing. Only one of the passengers was seriously injured, a youth, Mr. Trevor Drinkwater, of Dannevirke, suffering a broken leg. The other members of the party, including two young women., suffered from minor abrasions and shock.
