SOCCER FIXTURES.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES.

«3NIOR COMPETITION AGAIN

three promising matches,

The last series of games in the first round of the senior championship competition will be played to-morrow afternoon all d three stirring encounters are promised. At Blandford Park Mount .Albert Grammar Old Boys and Thistle are the contestants and as only a point separates the teams on the table the keenness of the game is assured. Both teams have been defeated only once in the four games to date, and though Thistle show the better goal average, Grammar have a dashing and clever attack that should tax the strength of the Scots' rearguard. Meetings between the teams in the past have always been productive of close and exciting struggles, and there is no ground for supposing that to-morrow's clash will be any exception to the rule. An attraction is provided in. the early game, when New Zealand Navy meets the British Navy in a challenge match at 1.30. There is keen rivalry at the base between the different "nationalities" and though the Soccer code is not the accepted national game in the Dominion, the "New Zealandcrs" are confident of victory.

Ponsonby journey across the harbour and have a difficult task before them in their contest with the Shore eleven. Shore are the strongest opposition on their own ground and the town team should be satisfied if they can return with a division of honours. The other game is between Metro-College and Comrades at Western Springs, and here also a strenuous game should result.
