THROWN FROM CAR.

THROUGH A SIDE WINDOW.

WOMAN'S HEAD INJURIES,

When two cars collided at the junction of Symonds Street and Mount Street, about eight o'clock last night. Miss Irene Stevens, a passenger in one of them, was hurled through one of the glass side windows and landed on the edge of the footpath. Miss Stevens, who lives at Castlebar, Khyber Pas-*. BUflercd bend injuries and was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance, but her condition is not regarded as serious. The car in which Miss Stevens was travelling was driven by Mr. J. J. Tullett, and was extensively damaged. The collision was with a car which was proceeding down Symonds Street. Mr. Tullett and the occupants of the other ear escaped with minor injuries. The second vehicle was fairly badly damaged.

HAIR TORN OUT. CAUGHT TN MACHINERY. While bending near n machine in a boot factory which she owns, Miss E. A. Maguire, of 7, Stanmore Koad, Grey Lynn, caught her hair in a shaft and a large patch of hair on the top of her head was torn out. Employees summoned a St. John ambulance, and after first aid had boon rendered it was not deemed necessary to send Mrs. Maguire to the hospital.
