GOOD WILL GESTURE

Political Amnesty Granted in Austria. SOCIALISTS AND NAZIS. LONDOX, June 0. The Vienna correspondent of the "News Chronicle" says the Austrian Government has granted an amnesty to all political prisoners condemned to no more than five years' imprisonment. This applies both to Socialists and Nazis; It accords with the promise of .the Chancellor, Dr. Schuschnigg, when he dismissed Prince von Starhemberg to introduce a more moderate and conciliatory policy. The Chancellor hopes to widen his basis of support by winning the good will of the workers and the moderate pro-German element.

It is stated that the amnesty also is designed to help the Chancellor to establish more cordial relations with France and Britain.
