HIT AND RUN.

CYCLIST BADLY INJURED. LEFT LYING ON ROAD. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Monday. A flagrant case of "hit and run" occurred on the Luck at Last road, Maungatautari, last night, when Mr. George Head, aged 29 years, a resident of Maungatautari, while riding a cycle from his home to his employer's residence, was knocked down by a car which did not stop. Mr. Head suffered a compound fracture of the right leg, which was later amputated at the Waikato Hospital. Mr. Head was left on the road until neighbours a considerable distance away heard him calling for help.: His condition is serious.
