BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED.
; GIFT AFTERNOON. Bowls of giant chrysanthemums, arranged with branches of vivid gold autumn foliage, decorated the whole of the reserved balcony at Milne and Choyce, Ltd., rooms yesterday afternoon when Mrs. C. E. Grevatt, of Waitatigi Road, Heme Bay, entertained a number of friends at bridge, mall jong and keeno. The party, which was the largest private entertainment given this season, wis in honour of Miss Mavis Grevatt. whose marriage to Mr. Reginald Bradley takes place this week.; The guests were received at the entrance of the balcony, and adjourned for tea to the reception hall, which was specially decorated for the occasion. The stage was set with huge bowls of bonfire salvias, and the tables were dressed in shades of lemon and golden Iceland poppies, the tea cloths and accessoiies all being in the same lovely tones. .During the tea an orchestra supplied several now items. The hostess wore a frock of' deep mulberry lace, cut with a high bateau-shaped neckline, and wine ring velvet coat. A small peaked toque was of the same shade. A short tunic of celcphane lace, witji pastel buckle at the waistline, was an effective finish to the blue frock worn by the guest of honour. Her tiny black cap had two ponpbns. Mrs. W. J. Grevatt wore a raisin shaded frock relieved with pink, and hat to. match; Mrs. L. Bradley was in brown marocain and musquash coat, small brown hat; Miss Roie Grevatt and Miss June Grevatt assisted their, mother, the former wearing a hyacinth wine costume; with blue hat, and the latter was in a brown marocain, small brovvn hat. Prize-winners were: Miss S.. Stewart, Mrs. R. Irwin and Miss Nesta Self. Among those present were; Mesdames W. J. Fletcher, V. Choyce, H. P. Caugliey, J. Dawson, J. Jerratt, F. Roberts, A. B.
