Public notice is hereby given that the : Northcote Borough Council, in pursuance of its powers under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the Rating Act, 1925, the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1925, the North- ' cote Borough Loans Conversion Orders, 193."i, Nos. 1 and 2, nnd all other powers thereunto enabling it in that behnlf. Intends on TUESDAY, the 30th day of ; June, 1936, to make nnd levy for the year ' commenced on the Ist day of April, 1930, ' and ending 011 the 51st day of March, 1937. 1. The following Water Rates in respect . of the ordinary supply, upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the BorougTi of Northcote :— (a) On all lands and dwelling houses '■ to which water is supplied, a Rate of One Penny (Id) in the pound (£), provided that in nil cases where such Rate would produce less than Ten Shillings (10/) a Rate or Charge of Ten Shillings is liercbv mnde and levied. ; (b) On all lands nnd dwelling houses to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, a Rate of one half of the above rates. (c) On all buildings other than dwelling houses a Rate of one half of the rates mentioned in paragraph (a) hereof. Provided that in all cases where the supply is by meter the rate shall be to consumers inside the Borough One Shilling nnd Sixpence per 1000 gallons, with a minimum charge of One Pound Ten Shillings (£1 10/) per annum, and to consumers outside the Borough a Rate of Ten Shillings per 1000 gallons, with a minimum of Two Pounds Ten Shillings (£2 10/) per annum. 5. A uniform annual fee in respect of the cleansing of closets or privies at the rate of Two Pounds Twelve Shillings (£2 12/) for each pan in each of such closets or privies. 6. A uniform annual fee in respect of the removal of dry house refuse of One Shilling and Sixpence upon all properties as having a building erected thereon from which the Council is prepared to remove such refuse. The said Rates and Fees to he payable in each case 111 one sum on AUGUST 7, 1930, at the Town Clerk's Office, Queen Street, Northcote, to A. P. Paitry, the Council's Collector, or to such person as the Council may from time to time appoint to nollect and receive the same. REBATE. —In accordance with Section 04 of the Rating Act,. 3925, the Council has resolved that a Rebate of Two and One Half Pounds per centum will be allowed on so much of (1) Consolidated, (2) Conversion Loans Order No. 1, (3) Conversion Loans Order No. 2, (4) Water Rates for the rating year 1930-37, as is paid by him or her before the expiration of 30 days after the due date thereof. The Estimates upbn which the Rates abovementioned are being struck, having been approved by the Council, are, together with the Valuation Roll, open for inspection at the Town Clerk's Office, Queen Street, Northcote, during office hours.
