CALLIOPE CLUB. TEAMS' TROPHY RACE. The Calliope Harrier Club held its annual handicap race for the Eyre Teams Trophy over"'a road course of three miles, 1200 yards, extending round Lake Pupuke. As a prelude to next Saturday's clash with the Hamilton Club, in the Waikato centre, when the Patterson Cup will be at Stake, a good Held faced the starter, and 24 competitors were dispatched as follows Collinge, Hunt, 5 inlns. ; llnrdman, 4.30; Steel, 3.45; Drummond, Ward, White, 3.15; Dixon. Sliarpe, 3.0; Rogers, Turner, UshakolT, 2.45; E. Charman, Lanigan, 2.30 : Fagan, 2.15; Hall, Houlihan, Shorter, 2.0; Ambler, \V. Charman, 1.0; Sanders, 255; Clapham, Clow, 10s; Clayton, scr. Towards Milford the field began to bunch, with the backraarkers running strongly, and fast gaining on the others. Along Shakespeare Road Houlihan got to the front, accompanied by E. Charman, while N. Ambler was fast bridging the gap to the front. At the end of Nortlicote Road Honllhan held a good lead, and finishing strongly, won from N. Ambler by about 80 yards, with E. Charman only 25yds away third. Then cnme nine men, with only yards between them, in this order, W. Charman, Shorter, Ward, Clayton, Rogers, W. Clapham, Dixon, Steel, Hall and Turner. Sliarpe (3.0), 24.8, 14; V. Usliakoff (2.45), 23.50, 15. Fastest time was gained for the third year In succession by A. E. Clayton, the scratch man, registering 20.255, a record for the .race. W. Clapham and N. Ambler also broke the old record, completing the course in 20.41 s. The teams race resulted as follows:— E Team (W. Charman 4, W. Ward 6, W. Clapham 9, L. UNIVERSITY CLUB. The University Harrier Club held its novice championship over n three and a half t mile course nt Mission Bay on Saturday . in ideal conditions. An open scratch race . and sealed handicap were held in conjunc- ' tion with the event. Results were as follow:— Open Race.—R. C. Haszard, 19.27, 1; E. Stephenson, 20.2, 2: E. C. Tweedie (2.38). 18.13 net, ' 2; J. W. Mackenzie (2.38),. 18.35 net, 3. AUCKLAND BAPTIST CLUB. Taking advantage of the ideal weather, 28 harriers ran from the North Memorial Baptist Church, Remuera. The runners were divided into three packs, led by S. Edgar, W. Fountain and A. Crothal. Results of the runs-ln were :— Fast Pack (about 2 miles).—E. Bisset 1, S. Edgar 2, S. Spencer 3, V. Knight 4. Intermediate.—P. Kendon 1 A. Hendry 2, G. Jenkins 3, J. Smith 4. Slow Pack.—A. Goffin 1, P. Webster 2, D. Long 3, F. Greenman 4. PRESBYTERIAN B.C. CLUB. Members of the Presbyterian Bible Class Harrier Club held a run from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Odlin, of 28, Mountain Road, Epsom. The results of the runs-ln are as follow :— Racing Pack."—,T. I. B. Neil 1, R. Linfoot 2, G. Robertson 3. Fast Pack.—H. Boyes 1, A. Swinton 2, W. Elder 3, W. Ross 4. H. Crawford 5. Intermediate Pack.—D. J. Constantine 1, B. Kitchener 2, J. Hislop 3, W. Buchanan 4. Slow Tack. —K. O. Handcock 1, W. E Ferguson 2, S. Goudle 3, D. Porter 4. LYNNDALE CLUB. The Technical Harrier Club were " the guests of the Lynndale Harrier Club at an eight-mile run from the Avondale racecourse. There were three packs. Heron taking the slow pack, Rogers the intermediate and Crompton the fast pack. In the slow pack Max White (L.) and Wade (T ) showed that they were definitely of intermediate paek standard. Others to show out well were Cameron (L.), L. White IT ) J Henderson (L.) and Laird (T.). The intermediate pack teamed well and some good runners were noticed. E. Taylor (L.) and 1. Henderson (L.) were very promin«nfn T I . 11 "h^, Laird and Mortimer, ot 1 ethnical, were prominent. As was predicted, a very fast pace was set in the last pack. Dolan and Collins, of Lynndale made the pace a cracker, but thev could not shake off Birtwhistle (A.) and Harding (T.), who were with them all the wav It was without doubt the fastest run' this season, and although many were outstanding, quite a few showed lack of training.
WESLEY CLUB. - The Wesley Club held n run of 65 miles over a very mixed course, starting from St. John's Methodist Church. Ponsonbv n ~{ he F2' 1 V ud by Grecn - Stewart, and Collins led along Richmond Gullv around the coastline from Cox's Creek through plenty of mud to the Western Springs. and back through Richmond, and finishing at the top of Lincoln Street. From this point a 440 yds handicap runF as eld ' bein S the second of a series of five for a trophy.
