NEW RAIL CAR.
VISIT TO THE WAIRARAPA
MR. SAVAGE AS A PASSENGER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MASTERTON, Sunday. Considerable interest was shown in all parts of the Wairarapa to-day in the initial appearance on an experimental run of the new rail car Maaliunui. The official party included the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, and several other members of the Cabinet, besides the General Manager of Railways, Mr. G. H. MackJey. _ Stops were mada at the principal stations, where Mr. Savage, Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Mackley addressed the assemblage. Mr. Savage said the rail car marked the beginning of a revolutionary change in the railway system of Acw Zealand.
