THIEF IN OFFICE.

CASHBOX VANISHES.

SUM OF £28 MISSING. While the young woman in charge of the office of Shorter's Rental Cars, Shortland Street, was absent for a few seconds in another part of the building early on Saturday night, a thief entered and stole the cashbox, containing £28. It is presumed that the thief kept watch on the premises, and awaited an opportunity to dash into the office and make off with the cashbox. The theft was quickly noticed, and shortly afterwards detectives made an investigation. So far no arrest has been m»d«.
