ANGLICAN CLERGY.
CHANGES IN THE DIOCESE.
The resignation of quite a number of the Anglican clergy and the consequent changes in the diocese are mentioned in Archbishop Averill's letter which appeared in the latest issue of the "Church Gazette." A number of the older clergy are resigning during the year. The Rev. Canon F. W. Young, recently in charge of the district of St. Paiil's-bv-the-Sea, Milford. has already resigned the charge of the church's work in that area and the work of the whole parish of St. Peter, Takapuna, is at present being carried on by the vicar, the Rev. Hill Johnson.
The Rev. P. S. Smallfield, a veteran priest, has resigned the charge of the mission district of St. Margaret, Mount Roskill. The mission will be temporarily carried on under the supervision of the vicar of St. Andrew's, Epsom.
The Rev. A. V. Grace, vicnr of St. Jude's, Avondalc, and chaplain to the Auckland Mental Hospital, is resigning the charge of his parislr this year, but will continue to act as chaplain to the Mental Hospital. The resignation of one of the younger clergy, the Rev. J. E. Draper, vicar of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, has also been announced. Mr. Draper, with his family, win proceed to England, where lie will carry on further work in the church.
The Rev. Harry Taylor, vicar of Bombay and chaplain to St. Stephen's School, Bombay, will be visiting England on furlough at the beginning of next year and will therefore be resigning his present work.
