Tbe Government Meteorologist is=ued to tbe "Auckland Star" this aftcrnop the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to_ as tar south as Tauranga, Kawhia an Hamilton:— . , Fresh to strong north-easterly wind?, backing to south-east v'ithin 24 hours. Weather changeable anfl with rain at times, more especially in northern parts. Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas moderate, but rising on the east coast. A shallow cyclone is centred west of Norfolk Island, while slight depressions arc crossing the South Island. An intense anti-cyclone is, however, advancing rapidly across tbe Tasman Sea. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. Tbe following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at neon to-day: Wind north, moderate; sea moderate; weather fine but hazy: visibility good; barometer steady. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 0 a.m. this day: • The indications are for strong northeasterly winds, after about 24 hours veering by east to south. Changeable weather with intermittent rain probable, and colder. Barometer unsteady. Seas moderate, but later increasing.
