Bush, president of the Federated Sawmillers, states that no increases in timber prices will be made by sawmillers in any part of the Dominion till the Government's investigation is completed, and the Government is satisfied .as to the measure of the price increase that is requisite to accommodate the actual rise in costs due to the new wages scales, awards and working conditions. Notification of the price increase by a fir in at Tauniarunui has been withdrawn, and the saw.milling industry is co-operating to the fullest possible extent with the Department of Industries and Commerce in carrying out its investigations into costs.
