KING GEORGE MEMORIAL.

DECISION or COMMITTEE. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, %lay 17. The executive committee considering schemes for a memorial to the late King George V. decided that his memory shall be perpetuated by the erection of a statue on a site in Abingdon Street. The site will be directly opposite the Victoria Tower of the Houses of Parliament. Also, playing fields will be laid out throughout the whole country and each will be adorned with a memorial gate. Clearing of the Abingdon Street site will reveal new views of the Henry VIII. Chapel and the south side of Westminster Abbey. Lord Macmillan, chairman of the executive committee, made known this decision to members of the general committee at Mansion House.
