CHURCH MEETINGS.

PAPATOETOE ANGLICANS. The Rev. H. H. Bedford presided over a large attendance of parishioners at I the annual business meeting of the St. George's Anglican Church, Papatoetoe. [Before commencing the business of the meeting, ths vicar, on behalf of the parishioners, made the presentation of reading lamps to Miss R. Burnside and Miss K. Waters, and a wristlet watch to Mr. G. Hoyle in appreciation of their services as organists and choirmaster. The vicar, in his report, said that the numbers of the general congregation were well maintained, and that there had been a considerable increase in the communicants. The treasurer's report showed that there was a slight decrease in the general offerings, but that a special appeal made at the last annual meeting realised £40, and in addition the social committee had handed over £23.

The special thanks of the parish were given to the vicar for his gift of new standards, which were a great improvement to the appearance of the church. Members elected to the vestry were: Messrs. Page (secretary), W. J. Nicholson (treasurer), Burrows, W. Cutforth, E. Hadlow. Fielrlen, Sibley, H. Pulliene, Stevens, White and R. Smith. Mr. W. J. Nicholson was appointed church warden, and Mr. R. Smith parish warden.
