The cricket match between AllIndia and Northamptonshire ended in a draw. In reply to the Indian score of 40.i for nine wickets, declared, the county made 242. (Amar Singh four for 52), and had to follow-on. Two great partnerships saved the game, Xorthants in the second innings losing only one wicket for 275 (Bakewell 100 not out, Allen 00, Grimshaw 73 not out). The series of county games, which commenced on Wednesday, was eliiefly remarkable for the heavy defeat of Derby (second in the 1935 championship) by Kent, and another top score by K. It. T. Holmes. The captain of the M.C'.C. team on its recent Australian and New Zealand tour is showing remarkable form for Surrey, and has led the way in every innings that county has played this season. M. Leyland (Yorkshire) scored another century, while James Langridgc (Sussex) was responsible for a fine double which brought about the narrow defeat of Glamorgan, who won this game last year. Three bowlers took as many as seven J wickets in an innings: A. P. Freeman (Kent), H. Verity (Yorkshire), and W.
