BOXING ON MONDAY.

TWO PROFESSIONAL CONTESTS. Cyril Pluto, the brilliant Australian welter-weight boxer, who has won both contests in which he has appeared m Auckland in decisive fashion, will meet his hardest' opponent to date when he faces Fred (Kid) Fisher at the Town Hall on Monday evening. Iwelve rounds ot thrilling fighting are expected in this contest, and it is extremely unlikely that ringsiders will be disappointed, as botn men have proved themselves skilled exponents of the boxing art and attractive fighters in action. Pluto will be keen to avenge the defeat inflicted on his stablemate, Keg Hickey, by the Englishman a fortnight ago, and Fisher will be equally keen to show that his decisive defeat of Hickey, against whom he showed fine form, was but a sample of his ability. In Australia, Hickey won a decision over Pluto and, with this as an indication, it will be seen that the Englishman's chances of defeating the Australian aro by no means remote. Whichever man ultimately wins Monday's contest "fans" can be assured of thrilling entertainment, not only in the main event, but also in the supporting professional bout between Jim Broadfoot and Seaman Ryan, as well ns in the special teams' contest between 10 sailors from H.M.S. Dunedin and 10 from H.M.S. Philomel, and in the four amateur bouts which will open the carnival.
