STANDARD OF LIVING.
INVESTIGATION OF COSTS. An investigation into the standard of life of NeV Zealanclers is being -undertaken by Mr. W. T. Doig, of the Department of Economics, University of Otago. The information is required for the purpose of comparing the expenditure of >Te\v Zealand families on food, clothing. amusement, etc., with that of families in; other countries. , . Prizes of £5 5/ and £3 3/ ate being offered to wives in connection with the investigation. The four groups from which the information is desired are railway workers, agricultural and pastoral workers, including farmers, industrial workers and relief workers. All information will be treated as strictly confidential, and those willing to assist are asked to communicate with Mr. Doig.
