USE OF PIRI PIRI.

INSECTS FROM CHILE. LIBERATION" IN WAXGANUI. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, this day. Dr. David Miller has advised the Wanganui farmers who subscribed to bis expenses to go to Chile and briny back piri piri insects that the adult insects are now commencing to make their appearance in sufficiently large numbers and that during this month he will have enough to bring with him to Wanganui and make the first liberations. The doctor adds: "We were concerned a, few weeks ago with a fungus disease which commenced to attack th& developing insects, but we have been successful in getting this under control before a great deal of damage had been dope." In regard to the fungus referred to'by Dr. Miller on the piri piri insects, a reporter was informed by a Nelson friend that it was necessary to treat each insect to a bath in order to .remove the fungus. It was quite a delicate and tedious undertaking.
