LIVED ON WATER.

LOST WOMAN MYSTERY Found by Lake in Emaciated Condition. YOUTH'S DISCOVERY. United Tress Association.—Copyright. (Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Miss Eileen Winsome Crabbe, aged about 35, disappeared from her home at Cullaroy, north of Manly, six weeks ago. An intensive search was made without result, and relatives feared she had met her death. A youth was wandering yesterday in the bush in the vicinity of Narrabcen Lake, three miles beyond Cullaroy when he saw what lie thought was the body of a woman on a bank of the lake. He reported the matter to the police, who found Miss Crabbe still alive. She was terribly emaciated and her clothes were in tatters. The country where the woman was lost is very rough, with thick scrub. Throughout the six weeks she wandered aimlessly, exposed to storms and sleeping in the open. Miss Crabbe said she ate a few crusts of bread the day she was lost, but since then had been living on water. Apparently she was in ill-liealtli when she disappeared.

MEN LOST ON RIVER. Mysterious Interference With Launch Engine. SEARCH BY AEROPLANE. (Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Two brothers, Harold Thompson, aged 30, solicitor, and Alan Thompson, 32, factory manager, have been missing in mysterious circumstances since Saturday morning - , when they set out in a motor launch on a Ashing trip up the Hawkesbury River. They have not been seen since. Features which add to the mystery arc the fact that their boat, found on the rocks at Dangar Island, in the river, early yesterday had been damaged from within. The plug had been pulled out and the magneto removed from the engine. Two aeroplanes and two launches searched throughout yesterday without success.
