MANY "BEAUTIES."

LARGE TROUT LANDED.

TWO THIRTEEN-POUNDERS. EUD-OF-SEASON CATCHES. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. Although weather conditions have been against fly fishermen, trolling parties in the Rotorua Lakes district have enjoyed good sport during the past few days. As is to be expected toward the end of the season a larger class of fish is now being taken. Lake Tarawera has been fishing particularly well, the average weight of fish taken from this lake during the present

season showing a marked increase. The average weight of recent bags from this lake, and aleo from Rotoiti, has been over six pounds.

A lady angler, Mrs. G. B. White, fishing in Lake Okataina, landed two of the best fish caught in this district for some considerable time. They were a male and female, weighing respectively 13Jlb and 12Jlb. Both were in the pink of condition.

Another splendid specimen was a 131b fish landed in Ruato Bay, Lake Rotoiti, by a Rotorua angler, Mr. B. Gleeson, while some days ago Mr. Alan Carruthers, also of Rotorua, landed a 12Jlb and 111b in the same vicinity. Several "double figure" fish have also been taken from the Ohau Channel during the past few days, while anglers night fishing at Okere have- landed a number of big fish.

The heavy southerly gale, which discoloured the lakes last week made fishing conditions almost impossible for a period, but with an improvement in the weather the last few weeks of the season should provide good sport.
