CANADIAN SCOTTISH IN. SKOTAAS FROM 'FRISCO. CUMBERLAND FURTHER DELAYED. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Scottish arrived shortly after noon to-day from Newcastle. She is for final loading and is expected to sail late to-mcft-row night or Wednesday •morning for New \ork, Boston and Montreal. The Norwegian motor , tanker Skotaas, 8100 tons, Captain Jensen, which left Saii Francisco on April 9 with petrol for the Shell Oil Company, arrived this afternoon, berthing at the Western wharf. She will discharge the balance of her cargo at Wellington. The Federal steamer Cumberland, which was forced to put to sea from New Plymouth 011 Saturday, has been further delayed and will not leave for Auckland until tomorrow night. She "is due here on Thursday morning. Mariposa sailed in continuation of her voyage to San Francisco at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday. She will arrive at Suva in the morning. (H. and M.) John Knudsen arrived last night from Sumatra, via Dunedin. She has petrol for the Atlantic Union Oil Company and is discharging at the Western wharf. (A.U.O. Co.)

Kaimirof is due late to-night from Adelaide, via Melbourne. ■ She will berth in the morning at the Prince's wharf. (U.S.S. Co.) Kartigi is due to leave this afternoon for Wellington and South Island porta. (U.S.S. Co.) Port Whangarei is meeting with strong head winds on her way from Nukualofa and will not arrive until tomorrow afternoon. (U.S.S. Co.) Waipawa will arrive from Gladstone at C a.m. on Wednesday. She has cargo from Capetown and goes to Opua from Auckland to load for London. (L.D.N'.) Brisbane Maru is due on Friday from Wellington and sails later for Japan, via Sydney and Brisbane. (F. Co-op.) Dalemoor is expected to complete discharge of ' basic slag and leave for Sydney to-morrow afternoon. (N.Z.S. Co.) Durban, now loading for London at the Central wharf, is duo to leave for Tokomaru Bay to-morrow. (N.Z.S. Co.) Rangitane will complete loading under favourable weather conditions and sail for London on Thursday. (N.Z.S. Co.) Mariposa leaves Honolulu at 0 p.m. to-day for Auckland, via ports. An ordefc for a new liner for the Soutl American route, to take the place oi L'Atlantique, lias been given by M. dc Chap pedelaine, French Minister for Merchant Marine. The vessel will be built in tilt Penhoet shipyards at St. Nazal re, and wil take about two and a half years to com plete. Some 4000 workmen will be employee and 110,000,000 francs paid out ill wages She will have a displacement of 30,000 tons and will cost lS<\ono,ooo francs (aboui £2,500,000).
