NEW VICAR.

FOR ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH. INDUCTION ON TUESDAY. The induction of tlie Rev. G. V. Gerard, M.C., M.A., as vicar of St. Matthew's Parish, Auckland, will take place 011 Tuesday evening. He will be inducted by Archbishop Averill. Since the death of Canon C. ll.'Grant Cowen in July, 1031, the charge has been vacant, the church having been served by acting vicars. Until recently Mr. Gerard was vicar of St. Augustine's Parish, Petone. He has come to Auckland with his wife and two children, and will take the services at St. Matthew's Church to-inorrow.
