FREEZING INDUSTRY.
NEW AWARD PROPOSALS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, Friday. A move for a new award covering the freezing industry in the North Island has been made by the North Island Freezing Workers' Association 011 behalf of its 3000 members. Tiie agreement under which the industry is at present working expires on Juno 30. Further to the effort recently made by the association to bring about complete unity in the ranks of the workers, when a conference of all representatives of freezing workers in Now Zealand was convened by the association in Wellington, special meetings have, it is understood, been held at the Gear, Waingavva, Longburn, Feilding, Waitara, Whakatu, Tomoana, Gisborne, Tokomaru Bay, Southdown and Moerewa works. At these meetings resolutions expressing complete confidence in the organisation were carried unanimously. Although diversity of opinion is said to exist at Ngahauranga, Horotiu and Imlay, the workers are agreed, particularly at the latter works, that they , have a common objective, in view.
