Dr. Schacht Loses Status But May be More Powerful NEW POST FOR GEN. GOERING. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 27. The Berlin correspondent of "The Times" states that General Goering lias been appointed to control and allot raw materials and foreign exchange owing to frequent economic disputes in which Dr. Schacht and other leaders are involved, necessitating reference to Herr Hitler, whose position as spokesman of the nation is now partly protected by General Goering's assuming of the difficult task of reconciling views, including arguments regarding devaluation.

The correspondent says that Dr. Schacht lias now ceased to be financial and economic dictator, but may be more powerful, owing to his loss of status. Dr. Schacht is a conservative regarding devaluation, which Nazi experts, including Herr Keppler, Herr Hitler's confidential adviser, favour, combined with Budgetary expansion.

General Goering's views oil the currency question are not known, but it is believed he will not he prejudiced and may probably be inclined to Dr. Schacht except regarding public economy.

The "Daily Mail's" Berlin correspondent expects General Goering's association to strengthen Dr. Schacht's psoition, as he is authorised to prevent Nazi officials intruding on Dr. Schacht's domain.
