THE COMBINED RACES.
STARTING TIMES- AND COURSES. The combined races to-morrow will all =fart off the King's wharf between the tower and mark moored north by the fiveflag system. The starting times are: — Naval whalers (to sail a special course clear of other classes), 1.45 p.m.; Yacht Squadron keel classes, 2.20 p.m. (by Y.R.A. starting system); C and E class, 2.30 p.m. ; H and I class, 2.38 p.m.; L and N" class, 2.46 p.m.; motor boats, 2.54 p.m. : T and X' class, 3.2 p.m.; Y class, 3.10 p.m.; V class, 3.18 p.m.; S class, 3.26 p.m.. M class, 3.34 p.m. ; Z class, 3.42 p.m.; Wakateres, 3.50 p.m. The courses for the various classes arc;— Naval Whalers. —From starting line off the King's wharf, round Rona buoy, on starboard, finishing between tower and mark moored north. The Royal's course and destination will be decided on Saturday morning. Classes C, E, H, L and N. —from starting line between end of the King's wharf and mark moored north, thence round Duder spit buoy on starboard, to finishing line in Islington Bay, observing as fairway marks only, Sandspit, Bean Rock and beacon off Rangitoto, near Islington Bay. Motor Boats.—From starting line between end of King's wharf and mark moored north, thence direct to Islington Bav, observing Sandspit, Bean Rock and bea'con off Rangitoto, near Islington Bay, bs fairway marks. • Classes M, V, S, T, X, Y, Z and Wakateres. —From starting line between end of King's wharf and mark moored north, thence round Sandspit beacon, thence round Resolution buoy, thence round outer mark of starting line, twice round, keeping all turning marks to starboard. A white flag flown from tower on wharf denotes the above course, a black flag will denote the course to be sailed in the opposite direction (i.e., taking Resolution buoy first and keeping all turning marks to port). The mark off the wharf is not a turning mark at the finish. _ Z and Wakatere Class.—Once round above course. Competitors in the keel, IT, L and r« classes will note that an alteration has been made in the course to Islington Bay. Insteading of observing the white and red light buoys as marks when going down channel to Duder Spit bnoy and returning, both of these marks have been omitted and competitors need only observe Sandspit, Bean Rock and the beacon below Rangitoto wharf as fairway marks. Thi=s will leave skippers free to go whichever course they like from North Head to the Duder Spit mark, off Rangitoto reef, and into the finish at Islington Bay, except for the beacon close to Rangitoto, about half a mile from the entrance to the bay, which must be kept on the port hand. The fini*sing line will be in the bay between Mr. E. J. Kelly's motor and a mark moored off the launch.
