BOWLING FUNCTION

The Puriri tea rooms presented an animated scene on Tuesday last when Mr. Neild, president of the Manurewa Bowling Club, and Mrs. Neild entertained the bowlers and their wives. Mrs. Neild received the guests in apple green georgette. The tea rooms and lounge were decorated with autumn glories and maidenhair. Cards and competitions were played during the first part of the evening, the competitions being won by Mrs. Woolley, Mrs. Carl White and Mr. Pickles. Vocal numbers by Madame Aileen Frost were much appreciated and character sketches by Sheila Fay and piano solos by Joan Fay were also enjoyed. Madame Frost acted as accompanist. Among those present were: Mesdames Heywortli, Frost, Whitton, White. Forbes, Fenick, Collie, Coxhead, Graham, Blackwell, Black, Morris, Avery, Cleave, Harvey, Osborne, Bell, Nicholls, Woolley, Misses Sheila and Joan Fay and Miss Graham.
