! LABOURER COMPENSATED. L i In the Arbitration Court this morning . judgment by consent on a compensation 5 claim was entered for Claudis Gordon . Campbell, labourer, of Mount RoskiU, plaintiff, against John William Marmont, contractor, also of Mount Ros 'l , defendant, with respect to an e\e injury suffered bv Campbell in the course ot ins work on September 13, 19Si5 The, award made to plaintiff was for the sumof £26 8/, plus £1 medical expenses ' (credit be in" given for £1 already paid by way of compensation) and expenses The facts of the case presented I by counsel for plaintiff. Mr. J. J. Sullivan. were that Campbell, who was employed by tre defendant, was, on September 18 last cutting a drain in Landscape Road for the purpose of putting in house connections to a sewer, when a piete of flvin ° rock struck him in the left eye. As a'result the eye was likely to becomc a total loss. The plaintiff, who had been disabled since the accident admitted that the defendant had paid him £1 hv war of compensation, but he claimed a weekly payment of £2 8/ from the date of the accident down to the present time, further reasonable compensation, £1 medical expenses and costs. ■
