OBITUARY.
REV. E. M. ERUINI,
The death lias occurred of the Rev. Ereatara Mohi Eruini at the age of 40. He was -a leader of the Ngati-Makino sub-tribe of the Ngati-Pikaio, living on the shores of Lake Rotoiti, and through, out his life he was closely identified with the life and activities of liis people. He received his theological training at Te Rau College, Gisborne, and was ordained in 1900, subsequently being stationed at Rotorua, Tokaanu, Taupo and Whakatane. He was then at Rotorua again, and later at Maketu. He is survived by his widow and an adopted son. A large tangi was begun this week at Ohinemutu.
MRS. W. T. BISHOP.
The death has occurred at Titirangi of an old and well-known resident, Mrs. W. T. Bishop. Born in Victoria, Australia, 74 yearn ago, she came to Now Zealand when, a child, her father, Mr. Andrew Tinlirig, a former Lifeguardsman at Buckingham Palace, being attracted by rumours of Maori wars. Settling in Opotiki, Miss Tinling grow up to take a practical interest in all social activities of the district, being for some years organist and a member of the choir of the Presbyterian Church and for many years a member of the local amateur dramatic club. She then entered the teaching profession and among the schools at which she taught were Opotiki, Mercury Bay, Pukekohe West and Titirangi, where she married Mr. W. T. Bishop in 1893. She took an active interest in the progress and welfare of the district right up till the time of her death. Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband, one son, Mr. W. A. Bishop, chairman of the Waitemata County Council, two daughters and seven grandchildren.
MRS. C. J. SMITH

HAMILTON, Tuesday. Having resided in New Zealand for 72 years Mrs. Clara Jane Smith died at Ngaruawahia on Saturday in her ninety-fourth year. She was the widow of the late Mr. Charles Smith, of Thames, and was associated with her husband in the Thames gold rush. Mr. Smith died in 1913. Mrs. Smith is survived by four sons, six dafughters, 25 grandchildren and nine great-grand-children.
