FOOTBALL RULES.

DISPENSATIONS SOUGHT.

"KICKING INTO TOUCH."

jt was decided at the annual meeting of tli'S Auckland Rugby Union, held last evening, to press for dispensations in regard to kicking into touch and the imaginary line through the centre of the schlmmage. The president (Mr. 11. Frost) said that he was a very strong advocate for up-to-date Rugby, but they did not want to run their heads against a brick wall. He suggested that they should urge the two dispensations. He believed that the New Zealand Rugby Union would grant local dispensations, and the matter would come forward at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby; Union. The meeting unanimously decided to instruct the management committee to make application l to the New Zealand Rugby Union for the dispensations.
