SHORT WAVE STATION.
SUGGESTION FOR DOMINION.
MINISTER IS INTERESTED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WANG A NUT, Monday. In referring to the broadcasting of Parliamentary debates, the Postmaster- ■ General, the Hon. F. Jones, said it was' proposed to do only a limited ampunt in that respect at present. Possibly when the Government, had the new, 2YA station they might enlarge upon their proposals.
It had been suggested to him—and he considered it a valuable suggestion that New Zealand should have a short wave, station. This could be used to great advantage in advertising the scenic wonders of the Dominion in other parts of the globe. Appropriate items dealing with the Maori race could also be put over when talks were given.
