SIR LINDO FERGUSON'S WORK HONOURED BY HOSPITAL. CBy Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Monday. Professor J. B. Dawson, chairman of the honorary visiting staff • of -v the Dunedin Hospital, stated at the official opening of the new administration block of the hospital to-day that a day such as that which marked the fruition of many months of careful plarining and hard work should be, and was, one of rejoicing in gratification of an achievement, but the day marked also the termination of the services of the oldest and most respected member of the staff, Sir Lindo Ferguson, who had not offered himself fpr re-election to the position of senior honorary ophthalmic surgeon to the Dunedin Hospital. For the first time in 52 years, he said, patients would not have the benefit of Sir Lindo's skill and experience.
On behalf of the staff Sir Lindo was presented with a letter embossed on parchment, expressing appreciation of hie' distinguished services and congratulating him on having obtained the°hi sliest honour the., hospital had to confer, that of having .his name commemorated in the- title of a- w* wl ,
