WAR TALK TRAGEDY.
MONS SUFFERER'S SUICIDE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 17. A pathetic result of the prevalent war talk has been the suicide of a Mons veteran, Charles Pearce, whose leg was amputated as a result of war wounds in 1010. He kept <■ a small store in London. The reoccupation of the Rhineland distressed him and he hanged himself leaving a note as follows:—"I can't bear the pain of another war!" His wife stated that war talk had upset him. He felt that all the sufferings of himself and others had been in vain.
