PERSONAL.

The Hon. B. Martin will leave for the South this evening by train. Mr. R. J. Elliott left for Wellington last night by the Limited express. Mr. H. C. Richmond was a passenger for the South by this afternoon's express.

Sir George Elliot will leave for Wellington this evening by the Limited express.

Mr. W. P. Endean, M.P. for Parnell, was a passenger for the South by last evening's Limited express.

Mr. A. E. Moore, manager of tho Yorkshire Insurance Company, left for the South last night by train. The Hon. Sir Francis Frazer, deputychairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, arrived in Auckland this morning by train.

Mr. K. C. Aekins and Mr. T. Henry will leave on Friday for Wellington, where they will attend the sitting of the Court of Appeal.

Mr. T. McCorkindale, of Auckland, has been appointed to the managerial staff of Hallenstein Brothers, at their head office in Dunedin.

Mr. G. G. Stewart, publicity manager for the New Zealand Railways Department, was a passenger to Auckland by yesterday's express from the South.

Mr. G. H. Bourne has arrived in Christchurch to take up his duties as local manager of the Bank of New South Wales. He succeeds Mr. J. E. Astill.

Mr. Leo Clierniavsky, the famous violinist, who is under contract to the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, is at present in Christchureh, and will leave New Zealand early in April to undertake a concert tour of South America.

Captain T. J. Watts, secretary and advisory superintendent of the United Fire Brigades' Association, and Superintendent H. E. Follas, of the Devonport Fire Brigade, have returned to Auckland after a trip to Wellington on executive business.

Dr. A. Asmis, Consul-General for Australia, New Zealand and the South Sea Islands, whose headquarters are in Sydney, has arrived in Wellington by the Rangitata. He will spend a short time there before returning to Sydney after an eight months' holiday in Germany.

Mr. C. J. B. Norwood lias been elected president of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. J. T. Martin vicepresident. The Wellington Chamber of Commerce will act as host to many representatives from overseas at the congress of the Federated Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire, to be held in Wellington in Octobcr.
