CALL EXTENDED

PRESBYTERIAN MINISTER,

A call lias been extended by members of tho Mount Eden Presbyterian Church to the Rev. John A. Allan, M.A., pre-i viously of St. Ninian's, Riccarton, Christchurch. The church was rendered vacant by the death last October of the Rev. E. J. Tipler, B.A.

The decision to ask Mr. Allan to become the new minister was unanimously made on Monday at a meeting of tho congregation. Mr. Allan preached at both services last Sunday, when members had an opportunity both of hearing him preach and of afterwards talking with hin\. Both services were largely attended. A list was opened asking Mr. Allan to be the new minister, ancl all present signed.

Mr. Allan took Ma. degree at the Victoria University College, Wellington. Afterwards he went to Scotland, where he took the theological course at New College, Edinburgh.
