CALEDONIAN GATHERING.

The newly formed Sandringham Caledonian Society held its opening ingleside at the Carlton Hall on Saturday evening when some 300 members and gnests°were present. The St. Andrew's Pipe Band was in attendance and rendered several items. .Chief W. D. Fulton and visiting chiefs of kindred societies, in full Highland costume, were played into the hall by their respective pipers, when the society was officially opened by the patron, Dr. J. Aitken Paterson. The evening's entertainment consisted of Scottish songs and verse, bagpipe music, and Highland dancing by Miss Gwen McNaughton and her pupils. The new society is to be congratulated upon the success of its opening night, which was pronounced most enjoyable.
