BIRTHDAY PARTY.

A happy informal party met at the rfleidence of Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Gardner, Links Road, New Lynn, to celebrate the BCth birthday of Mrs. J. Gardner, sen., and also the coining of age of her grandson, Gardner Jonee-Parry. The clan had gathered from many parts of New Zealand and the fourth generation was well represented. Mrs. C. F. Gardner .received her guests in a frock of flowered "corgette. Musical and elocutionary items rendered by Mr. Jack Buck-, ley, Miss Ruth Chandler and Mrs. Parry and her two sons were much enjoyed. In proposing his mother's health Mr. C. F. Gardner referred to her many experiences in the early days and to tha "Teat changes filic had seen during her lifetime. Mr. R. O. Gardner responded for his mother. Later in the evening the birthday cake, ablaze with 8(5 candles on tlio lower tier and 21 on the top tier, was wheeled in.
