MANY YACHTS CAPSIZED.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. Yachting at Lyttelton yesterday was marred by a strong southerly and later a westerly gale, which caused eight of the craft to capsize. Avenger, the winner of the Sanders Cup at Auckland last month, bf'oke her rudder, and while being towed in broke away in the heavy sea. She was blown on to a mole at Gladstone Pier and was seriously damaged.
