The Nev Zealand Meat Producers' Board advises that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield Market, and/or ex London stores:— Sheep.—Canterbury and North Island selected: Crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 481b and under, 5%d, 481b to 561b 5%d, 571b to 041b 4%d, 651b to 721b 4M>d; North Island: 481b to 561b 5%d; 571b to 641b 4%d, 651b to 721b 4%d. Lamb.—Prices have declined owing to slackness in demand, due to Lent and a continuance of very cheap chilled beef and large supplies of Home-killed meat. Mutton: Lightweight wethers unchanged, but tendency easier; other descriptions slightly weaker. Ewes: Market quiet and unchanged. Tendency of market _is easier. Beef: Frozen beef nominal owing to shortage of spot stocks. New Zealand porker pigs: Market easier owing to continued heavy supplies of Homo-killecl. Baconcrs: Tendency of 'market is easier owing to heavier supplies in sight. LOCAL MARKET. The only change in export schedule prices for fat stock in the Auckland Province is an advance of %d per lb for pigs from 1201b to 1801b.
