CLAIM ON POWER BOARD. MEMBERS EXPRESS SURPRISE. Some surprise was expressed at a! meeting- of the Auckland Electric Power Board yesterday afternoon when a j communication was received from the i Auckland City Council asking for a con ! tribution of £310 as the board's share towards the cost of the electoral roll. 1 "Is this the first?" asked Mr. R. G. j Clark. "Yes, it is the first claim." said the chairman (Mr. W. J. Holdsworth). | "Is it for the last preparation ?'' asked ; Sir. S. T. Crbokes. I The chairman replied that it must be two years old. He said that the Act allowed them to pay 1/ for each roll but the City Council had had an opinion ; and now claimed over £.'SOO. i Mr. F. M. Waters said that it was 1 very interesting from the county council point of view. The chairman said fhat it appeared to Tie something that they had dug up. A Member: They are evidently gettins hard up. The chairman said that from the way they were apparently trying to "milk" them he thought that it ought to go to the Milk Council. Finally it was decided to refer the matte" to the board's solicitu.
