The New Zealand junior tennis team showed up well in a number of special events at the New South Wales tennis tournament to-day, the outstanding achievement being that of the Aucklandcr J. W. Gunn in defeating L. King, holder of the under 21 years championship, 6—4, 3—o, B—o.8 —0. Gunn, according to his team mates, played the best game of his career.' N. P. Bedford (Wellington) and Gunn, 1 in the men's special doubles, beat a strong pair, N. Harper and 11. Rice, jun., 6 —4, 0-3. ! A. D. Brown (Auckland) and J. T. Mayson (Auckland), who revealed the best form since their arrival, extended H. Lindou and »T. Gilchrist, the latter winning 6 —3, 3—6, 6—2. MINOR CLUBS. i MEADOWBANK WINS B GRADE. j The sixth round of the Auckland Minor Clubs Hard Court Tennis Association's inter-club matches was played last Saturdav. This completed the B grade competition, Meadowbank being the winners, having been victorious In all five matches. Results :—• i A Grade.—Transport 14 rubbers, beat Whit\vortli 4 rubbers; Dunholme 14, beat Akapoa 3; Surrey 10, beat Islington 8. i B Grade.—Meadowbank 14 rubbers, beat Dunholme 4 rubbers; W.Y.M.I. 11. beat •T. Court 7 : Welcome 14, beat Edendale 4. Final match : Meadowbank won 5 games, Welcome 4, W.T.M.I. 3, J. Court 2, Dunholme 1. * ' C Grade. —Surrey 12 rubbers, beat Welcome 0 rubbers: Whitworth 8 rubbers, 100 games, beat Transport 8 rubbers, 95 games ; Avalon won from Akapoa by default; Alder-, ley, a bye.

In a lawn tennis match played during the week-end Te Puke beat Pongakawa by 14 rubbers to 7.
