MAORI KING'S TOUR.
ON GOOD WILL MISSION.
NEW MEETING HOUSES.
(By Telegraph.—Otvn Correspondent.) WANGANUI, Monday.
With a retinue of 60 notable Waikato Maoris, including Princees Te Puea, the Maori king. Koroki, arrived at Waitotara on Saturday afternoon m the course of a good will tout to various tribes along the West Coast. He was welcomed in true Maori style and was accorded traditional hospitality over the week-end. __ He will visit Wanganui on Wednesday, and Otaki on Saturday. Large numbers of Waitotara Maoris and others along the line will journey to Otaki with the king's party, making up a total of about 1000. _ The principal business at Waitotara was the official opening of the new meeting house. A similar function was held at°Kai Iwi to-day, and on Saturday the new meeting house at Otaki will Be opened. Maoris will be present from all over the Taranaki and Wanganui districts, over 600 now being assembled at Kai Iwi.
