GOVERNMENT PLANS.
PROBLEMS FOR CABINET. DECISIONS THIS WEEK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , WELLINGTON, Monday., Important decisions will be reached at a series of Cabinet meetings to be held this week. So far the Cabinet has been mainly occupied in deciding on ways and means of giving effect to the policy which the Labour party placed before the electors and there has been little time to devote to administrative work; but this week the Cabinet will have to consider several important appointments. In addition to administrative quesI tions, the Cabinet will shortly be called | upon to discuss a most important feature of its economic policy—the application of guaranteed prices. A committee of Departmental Leads and experts has been engaged on the problem for a number of weeks and it has now submitted its report to the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, whose duty it will be to submit the proposals to the Cabinet. It is understood the committee has not recommended any definite scheme, but has submitted, several alternative schemes to the Minister, whose task it will be to make the selection of the one he considers to be best suited to New Zealand's needs. Once a selection is made it will be necessary to work out tbe scheme in greater detail than has yet been attempted.
