OUR BABY.

(By- Selwyn Davison, Bollard Arenne, New Lynn.) There's a baby come to our house, I really hope she's come to stay, She has big blue eyes, a dear wee mouth, Does nothing but eat and sleep all day. Mother says that she's "her treasure," Nurse calls her "Precious Lamb," Pete, dad and I, whene'er we see her, Call her by name, which is Pam. Her proper name is Pamela Anne, The Anno is spelt with an "e." She has no teeth and not much hair, But she's very precious to me. She's the only girl in our house, The only sister we've got, And it's all because of that I suppose, That of her we think such a lot. And when she's older grown, How proud of her I'll be, As I take her gently by the hand And take her out with me. —Original.
