LAWN TENNIS.

AUCKLAND JUBILEE. VETERANS' TOURNAMENT. Although this year is the jubilee of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, it was deemed proper to cancel all functions arranged in conjunction with the Auckland championship tournament. However, the executive has decided that some recognition of the event should be made and opportunity given to older supporters to foregather. To this end, it has been decided to hold a men's handicap doubles tournament at the Stanley Street courts on Friday afternoon, March 13. Also at the same time to hold a general reunion at the Stanley Street courts, at which, even if not competitors, it is hoped older players will be present as guests at afternoon tea, together with any members of their families. , The tournament is open to players of 45, or over, on the day of the tournament, and partners may either be arranged by the competitors or will be allotted by the committee. Handicaps will be given, and it is planned to finish the tournament during the afternoon, with matches the best of 15 games. Entries close with the secretary on Tuesday. Dinner (for men only) will be held at the Grand Hotel the same evening.
