MAIL RECOVERED ?

WRECK NEAR SAMOA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department, Mr. G. McNamara, states it was announced a few days ago that the launch Tiafau, which was lost between Apia and Pago Pago, had been washed up on the beach on the island of Tuasivi.

Prom advice received from the postmaster at Apia it would appear that portion of the mail carried by the vessel has been recovered, but full particulars are not yet available in New Zealand.
