BOY'S "HAT TRICK."

WINS IN MOUNTED EVENTS. VALUABLE TROPHIES WON. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) TUAKAU, Thursday. A remarkable run of success in horse events at sports meetings in the Franklin district has been experienced by a 13-year-old boy, Ken Taylor, of Onewhero. Riding his mount, Jimmy, this boy has won three open hunter competitions in succession in a period of two weeks, thus performing the "hat trick." As a result,' he has carried off three beautiful silver cups and £20 in cash. The successes ! comprise the open hunters' event at' Onewhero, Glenmurray and Pukekawaj sports fixtures. Competing in these events were some of the best hunters of • the district and it is interesting to note] there were as many as 22 competitors taking part against him, thus showing that competition was keen. j
