INVERCARGILL, this day.

Delia Rabbitt, a single woman, aged 25, who came from Greymouth, was charged at the Police Court this morning with abandoning an' infant child on the night of December 20 at Christchurch. Accused was arrested at Centre Bush. She was remanded to appear at Christchurch on Monday. On the evening of December 20 an 18-months-old boy was found asleep on the floor of a large Christchurch departmental store. The boy was asleep, and was taken to the office for safety. When he was not claimed he was handed over to the police, and later to the Child Welfare Department.
