RELIEF FROM IMPRISONMENT
(Received 11 a.m.) ' BRISBANE, this day,
Royal assent has been given to the Maintenance and Alimony Relief Act, which provides that persons serving terms of imprisonment for failure to pay alimony or maintenance have the right to apply to the Court for exemption from their imprisonment.
The Attorney-General, Mr. Mullan, said the applicant must satisfy the Court that inability to get the payments was not through his own fault.
